The Old Town:
Old Town restaurant is located near Roman Arch of the
street called strait (Via Recta). It is an old master's
house from the 17th century transformed into a very nice
typical restaurant offering one of the best food in town
in a very elegant "Oriental" setting.
Casablanca:
Casablanca is a typical Damascene house with court
offering Syrian and international cuisine.
Elissar:
Elissar stands at the heart of Old Damascus
neighbourhood, close to Hammam (Turkish bath) Al-Bakri.
It is an example of the Damascene house, where the
simple, almost primitive exterior, contrasts rather
sharply with the beauty and sophistication of the
interior. Here one finds a sense of space, a wealth of
polychrome stone, splendid marble, cascading fountains
and fragrant flowers.…
Ommayad Palace:
It is certainly the most oriental of its peers. It is
located in the heart of the old city in an old dyeing
shop of the XVII century. Outstanding Damascene open
buffet.
Attention: due to its proximity to the Ommayad mosque,
the restaurant cannot serve alcoholic beverages. |
